Gentle osteopathic treatment could help soothe and relax your baby.Osteopathy can be also also beneficial for mothers by relieving the stresses and strains on the body during pregnancy and birth. If you are not sure whether osteopathy is suitable for your child please call to discuss the symptoms in more details.
I am an osteopath with a particular interest in treating babies and children. I have completed an MSc course in Paediatric Osteopathy.
In addition to work at my practice I used to treat babies and children at the internationally renowned Osteopathic Centre for Children in
central London and I am an alumnus of the Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy. Osteopathic treatment of babies and children is extremely
gentle, safe and can be very effective.
I am often asked what conditions I treat. The answer is that as an osteopath I treat patients not the conditions. With this in mind I
always aim to achieve the optimum health and improve potential of any child who I treat, regardless its physical limitations, disabilities
or behavioural problems.I work closely with local midwives and lactation consultants.
During inital assessment I take into consideration
all aspect of child's health and development. There is no irrefutable scientific proof that osteopathy can treat paediatric conditions and
for that reason we cannot mention any of them on our websites. However, it is the results that we achieve that continue to encourage
parents to bring their children and to recommend us to their friends.
As toddlers become children and teenagers their bodies undergo rapid changes. Osteopaths can help the body to adapt to them. Osteopathy
can be also very effective in treating minor sport injuries. For example injuries such as a sprained ankle can result in compensatory
changes in the whole body, including pelvis, spine rib cage and neck.
We can also offer advice on posture or exercises so that a bad
posture does not become a habit.
